The craftsman of Chiapa de Corzo, Chis. preserve the ancient tradition of painted Jicaras and Jicalpextles typified by the floral decoration, which they also apply to wooden objects. Nowadays they still conserve the technique of painting with oleo, first with their finger tips and then with a brush made up by cats hair.
